Singkong dan Keju (Cassava and Cheese)

Harry Darmawan (27) is a simple, warm-hearted man with an endless sense of humor. He is the son of the owner of the largest cassava plantation in his village. To Harry, cassava is not just food—it is life itself. Boiled, fried, or fermented into tape, every dish carries a story and a pride he holds close to his heart.

In sharp contrast stands Catharina Diana Donovan (25)—Catherine a famous model living in a glamorous world. Accustomed to imported cheese, fine wine, and luxurious restaurants, Catherine considers fried cassava “food for poor people,” something she avoids whenever possible. Ironically, her parents insist she learn to live more simply, even forcing her to eat fried cassava as part of that lesson.

Fate brings Harry and Catherine together in a ridiculous situation: a rural tourism campaign project that requires Catherine to temporarily live near Harry’s family cassava plantation. Their first meeting is filled with arguments, sarcasm, and absurd debates—cassava versus cheese, simplicity versus luxury.

Yet behind the clash of social class, taste, and worldview, Harry slowly shows Catherine that cassava has nothing to do with poverty. It represents hard work, gratitude, and dignity. Meanwhile, Catherine opens Harry’s eyes to dreams beyond the village, the courage to step out of his comfort zone, and the vastness of the world waiting outside.

Between crispy fried cassava and melting cheese, love quietly begins to grow.

When feelings finally surface, they must choose: cling to their egos, or accept that differences are not barriers but bridges.

A romantic comedy about love, prejudice, and the realization that happiness doesn’t always come from expensive food—sometimes, it comes from warm fried cassava shared with the right person.
